Your Library Card

Who can get a library card, how to apply, and how to use your library card.
  • Any resident may be issued a library card for the Colesburg Public Library with the proper valid identification.  Parents/guardians must sign for juveniles under the age of 12 years.  The cardholder will be responsible for obeying all rules and regulations of the library, prompt payments of all fines charged against them or injury or loss of materials, and to give immediate notice of any change of address.
  • No library material will be loaned without a valid library card.
  • Books and magazines will be loaned for a two-week calendar period and may be renewed for another two-week period.  Movies and audio CDs have a one-week loan period.  If the item is on a reserve list, only a one-week renewal is permitted.
  • A limit of seven material items may be checked out to a patron at one time.
  • Materials may be placed on reserve through the library staff, and the patron will be called when the materials have become available for check out.
  • Fines may be levied for overdue books at a rate of .05 cents per day after a three-day grace period.  Fines will be levied against days the library is open thereafter.  Fines will be levied at the discretion of the Library Director and the Board of Trustees.
  • Lost book policy requires the payment of a comparable amount according to the value of the book, after a six-week period.
